A heated argument at a tire shop in Santa Cruz, California, has caught attention online after a woman confronted Hispanic workers and threatened to call immigration authorities. The encounter was filmed by someone at the scene, with the woman also recording the workers on her phone.
The video, shared on X by @LongTimeHistory and credited to Daniel Hernández, shows the woman standing near stacks of tires outside the shop. Wearing denim overalls, a white T-shirt, and sunglasses, she points her phone toward the workers while arguing with them.
“I’m going to give ICE a call,” she can be heard shouting. The workers push back against her remarks, with one responding, “You’re just racist!” Another voice challenges her threat, saying, “Gonna call ICE? We’re not illegal!”
The woman continues arguing as she moves away from the shop and into the parking area. She then turns toward the person recording her, spreads her arms, and appears to swing at them. She eventually walks farther down the street, still gesturing and looking back at the camera.
According to the post, the woman was on private property and was confronting the workers based on assumptions about their immigration status. The short clip does not establish what initially sparked the disagreement, but it captures her threatening to involve ICE and making an aggressive move toward the person filming.
Internet Reacts to California Woman Threatening to Call ICE on Tire Shop Workers
Viewers criticized the woman’s behavior, with one writing, “Nothing like letting everyone know how racist you are.” Another expressed sadness over the way she treated the workers, commenting, “So sad that people live their short journeys this way. It really is! I actually feel sad for her dark soul.”
One viewer admitted the video made them angry, writing, “My BP goes through the roof, when I see and hear racist [expletive].” Another summed up their reaction with, “Stupid for no reason other than hate.”
Some commenters were even more blunt. “God, these Magats are not only really *expletive* incredibly stupid, they are incredibly kkkrazy,” one person wrote.
Another blamed the incident on what they described as a broader pattern of hostility, adding, “All racist MAGAs are broken! Always walking around without a heart and a soul ready to verbally or physically attack anyone they feel superior to because of the color of their skin. That’s one of the main reasons why they lost this midterm election and they’ll be crushed in 2028.”
The short clip does not show the full exchange or establish the workers’ immigration status. However, the threat to call ICE and the apparent swing toward the person filming became the main focus of viewers’ criticism.
