What you say online can stick with you for the rest of your life. The harsh reality is that too few people understand the consequences of their actions and how it will impact them. For one California Marine, he obviously wasn’t thinking about how he’d look to the Corp after sharing some rather evil comments online. One content creator decided to immortalize those words in the Marines’ files forever by passing them on to their NCO.
TikToker Dudeinthedurag, or Ajay, shared a Facebook profile of a Marine from California, Jacob Budd. More importantly, Ajay revealed screenshots of the U.S. Marine’s comments on social media, in which he self-proclaimed himself a “groyper.”
But Jacob Budd had more to say. Proclaiming to admit you’re a groyper isn’t enough. Ajay reveals Jacob’s thoughts on immigrants, too, stating, “Dems just like to release them back into the population (I want them dead).” A sentiment that’s been shared by social media conservatives has been increasingly shared. Trump administration has only spurred those feelings on with ICE’s regular appearance in the U.S.
Jacob Budd also had some colorful feelings on Black people, by commenting on a current event, stating: “Typical black DYING to be a victim.” And yet, he speaks about immigrants being in the country, with an intensely hateful statement
Ajay didn’t stand for Jacob’s open racism and decided to report those comments to the U.S. Marine Corps via phone. When Ajay details Jacob’s behavior to the Marine on the line, he tells Ajay, “If he is in the Marine Corps, he shouldn’t be doing that. That’s very unprofessional.”
According to the Marine, they have a “social media expert” who will do a full investigation, including the comments Ajay took screenshots of. If his behavior is not above board, he’ll be reprimanded.
Ajay smiles as he says, “Thank you for your service.” See, your actions can definitely have consequences.
One commenter applauded Ajay for taking care of business by saying. “I am DYYYYING that you called the military. You are ELITE!”
Another Marine pointed out, “As a Marine Corps veteran, we had MULTIPLE classes regarding social media and acting accordingly on it.” It seems Jacob just didn’t get the message, apparently.
