Mandy Moore stood in front of a mirror at her California home, hit record, and posted the kind of honesty most of Hollywood spends a fortune airbrushing away.
The 42-year-old This Is Us star took to her Instagram Story on Thursday with a short clip of her midriff, dressed in a sports bra and high-waisted leggings as she gently stretched the skin on her stomach. Her caption said everything: “After 3 kids in 3 1/2 years, this is what my body is…. Loose skin and all.“

There was no glam, no filter, and no apology, just a mom of three telling the truth about what carrying three babies back to back actually looks like.
Moore followed it with a second Story from the gym, where she filmed herself working through a pull-up with her trainer’s help. “Also I’m super awkward and not a natural athlete but I’m committed to getting stronger for the long run,” she wrote over the clip.
The singer and actress shares sons Gus, five, and Ozzie, three, and daughter Lou, who arrived in September 2024, with husband Taylor Goldsmith, the Dawes frontman she married in 2018. When Lou was born, Moore joked that the family finally had its “very own big three,” a nod to the beloved NBC drama that made her television’s most famous matriarch.
Her candor on Thursday fits a pattern fans have come to love. On the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast last month, Moore admitted she is “still emotionally recovering” from having three children in under four years, even while calling herself lucky that her pregnancies were physically easy. She also revealed on the podcast that she and Goldsmith had tried a round of IVF as an “insurance policy” for a third child, and it failed to produce a single viable embryo. Then life wrote its own script. “And then Lou just had to show up,” she said. “And she showed up very, very surprisingly.“
A Message Moms Everywhere Needed
Moore has never pretended motherhood is effortless. On her first Mother’s Day as a mom of three, she called being a mom “the single greatest gift of my life” while admitting a parent is “never off the clock worrying or stressing or planning.“
That mix of gratitude and honesty is exactly why Thursday’s post is resonating. In an industry built on bounce-back photos and strategic lighting, one of its most beloved stars pointed a camera at her real body and called it what it is: the evidence of three children in three and a half years, and nothing to hide.
Three kids, one honest mirror video, zero apologies.
