California Sen. Adam Schiff Raises Alarm Over Whistleblower’s Mail-In Voting Claims as Critics Pile On: ‘Why Are Democrats So Afraid of Election Integrity?’

That’s a valid concern

California Senator Adam Schiff is sounding the alarm over the Trump administration’s push to change how mail-in ballots are handled, as a new whistleblower disclosure raises concerns about the US Postal Service’s preparations for the November midterms. Schiff has previously warned that the proposed changes could disenfranchise voters, and the latest claims are giving Democrats another reason to question what could happen when millions of Americans cast ballots by mail.

The controversy stems from a relatively new Postal Service system that is designed to verify mail-in ballot information before they even enter the mail stream. However, a whistleblower claims that the system has been rushed into development and could potentially cause legitimate ballots to be rejected.

A whistleblower is sounding the alarm that Trump is violating a court order ahead of the midterm elections.

This is a brazen threat to mail-in voting that could prevent voters from receiving ballots and disenfranchise millions of Americans.

The Administration must stop this…

The whistleblower disclosure was released by Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal, who demanded answers from Postmaster General David Steiner about the Postal Service’s preparations. According to Reuters, the whistleblower claims a “zero percent failure” protocol could cause an entire batch of ballots to be refused if even one sampled ballot cannot be successfully matched.

That could become a significant problem if something as ordinary as a recent move or name change causes a mismatch. Blumenthal offered an example in which a single problem in a batch of 10,000 ballots could potentially result in the remaining 9,999 being refused as well.

There were also concerns raised about the administration’s plans well before the latest whistleblower disclosure surfaced. Several others, including Alex Padilla, Gary Peters, and Chuck Schumer, had also demanded that USPS abandon a proposed rule they argued could allow the Postal Service to determine who can vote by mail and potentially disenfranchise millions of voters.

The issue is also being fought in court, where the Trump administration is seeking to revive its mail-voting rule after a federal judge temporarily blocked it. The administration argues the changes are legally sound and improve election infrastructure, while opponents contend they improperly give the federal government authority over election procedures traditionally controlled by states.

Comments and Reactions Toward Senator Adam Schiff’s Mail-In Voting Warning

Judging by the responses online, plenty of Schiff’s critics aren’t convinced that the developments represent a threat to voting rights at all. One person asked, “Why are democrats so afraid of election integrity?” Similarly, another user wrote, “You owe The American People answers you treasonous pos not the other way around considering we Voted For Election Integrity! Enjoy Gitmo.”

Others focused specifically on the whistleblower angle, with some openly mocking the use of an anonymous source. A different commenter sarcastically asked, “Was it a Russian whistleblower?“

With the midterms approaching and the Postal Service’s new system now facing both a court battle and whistleblower scrutiny, the argument over mail voting appears unlikely to quiet down any time soon.
