Getting stolen from can happen to anyone, regardless of the place So it is more than possible that some people will have their houses stolen from This is why having a camera outside your house can be quite useful A man discovered how useful is his Ring camera when it caught a California thief near his garage He didn’t try to break it open or anything What he did do was try and inspect it to see if there was anything worth stealing While the man’s family is safe, it is still a terrifying video to watch, especially if you imagined this happening to you.

In the Ring video, you can see the thief standing near the garage door and looking behind him to see if anyone is there He then goes toward the garage, lights up a flashlight, and crouches to check out the inside of the garage He tries to see anything through the glass, and he goes from one side to the other, all while his flashlight is on After a few seconds of doing this, he walks away like nothing happened The man said that they didn’t exactly have any valuables there, which might have made the thief disappointed I wonder what would have happened if his inspection proved fruitful.

People Reacting to the California Thief

People were left terrified by what they saw as they also feared for the man’s life One person wrote, “that’s actually terrifying.” Another asked OP if he made a police report about what happened, but he didn’t get the answer he might have hoped for “I did call to see if the police would be interested in the footage They said there’s nothing they can do unless there’s actually been a burglary Basically no crime = cannot file a report Admittedly the operator did express sympathy and frustration that there was nothing they could do,” the man wrote.

The police’s lack of concern changed later as they realized that the thief was going around the city inspecting different garages “There was no further activity after this The police did arrange for me to file a report They said the guy was being seen doing this all over the city and there is an ongoing investigation They were actually very responsive and concerned,” the man offered in an update Aside from this, a lot of people were quite helpful as they offered some advice on how the man could make his garage even safer “Maybe add a floodlight for motion activity Also, if possible, privacy screens over the windows?” one person suggested It is a good thing that the police started taking the matter seriously before anything bad happened.
