A California woman took matters into her own hands and woke up early to beat lines at a government building. She woke up early so that she could get the services she so desperately needed. But when she made it to the office, a Karen had other plans. She started confronting everyone else in the line.
TikToker LCF (@lacabronafoods) shared a TikTok video of a bad experience at her government disability office. She knows that, if you’re not at the head of the line for the day, you’ll miss out. You may not be able to speak with somebody in-office. So, this time she got ahead of the game and arrived there at 2 a.m. in the morning. Therefore, she’d be one of the first people in line and would get her chance to speak with an employee.
When LCF arrived, she waited in the line for several hours, making sure nobody else stole her spot. Another woman arrived at 6 a.m. to speak with somebody as well. The Karen got angry at the other people waiting in the line so early in the morning. Because of this, she tried to steal their spots. She went to the front of the line and said she was taking that spot “whether they liked it or not.” The woman was clearly angry that some people were holding their spots and that she wouldn’t be able to get an appointment that day if she wasn’t early enough.
LCF said the woman was threatening everybody in the line and threatening to call her father, who is allegedly a sheriff. LCF said the woman felt “entitled” to have a spot in front of everyone. This is all despite the fact that they were literally waiting hours to claim those spots and get an appointment. She tries to tell the woman, “Everybody out here came at literally 3:00 in the morning. But you just arrive at 6 and you just think you’re entitled to get in front of people?” The whole situation angered her and everybody else waiting patiently in line for their fair chance to have a disability appointment that day.
Commenters immediately reacted to LCF’s video, with many calling out the woman for her entitled actions. One commenter shared, “Nope I totally understand why you were willing to go at 2:30 in the morning. Yes you still had to wait but you were one of the first ones in and you didn’t have to stand in the heat while hoping you would get in. Good for you!”
Other commenters were shocked that individuals need to jump through hoops just to access their local disability departments. One commenter was shocked as they asked, “And you’re not even first?!” Another stated, “Calling at 7:55 a.m. and at 8 a.m. when they open it says maximum calls have been reached for the day. Like what?” The comments opened up important conversations about the care people receive from their government.
