Racism seems to have no end when it comes to America. With all the deportations and hate toward immigrants, racism seems to be on the rise. There is no end to it in sight. The latest racist attack happened in Simi Valley, California where a woman attacked another woman who works as a street vendor. What makes matters worse is that the street vendor, named Mary B, who was attacked by the California woman, is seven months pregnant. People were shocked at this racist attack and how the California woman didn’t care that her victim was pregnant.
In the video caught by the street vendor, the California woman says, “I told you not to come down the street anymore. *Slur.* You bring down my property values.” Mary then responds by saying, “Let me pass. I’m not bothering you in your own home.” The disgusting nature of this racist attack continued as the California woman demanded that the vendor speak English. “English,” she says in a demanding tone. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the first time that the California woman harassed Mary. It happened before on three separate occasions.
The attack became physical as the California woman used the vendor’s pushcart to push her to the ground. Talking to the press after the attack, Mary claims that the California woman set her dog on her and she had to run behind her pushcart. “In an effort to defend myself, I retreated,” Mary says. When the attacker demanded that Mary speak English, she couldn’t. It was then that the California woman pushed Mary to the ground using her own cart. Thankfully, Mary had the interaction recorded on her phone. In addition to this, a neighbor’s ring camera also caught what happened.
What Happens Next?
It has been reported that Simi Valley police cited the 56-year-old California woman named Julie Sanchez with battery. There is also a summon to appear. Mary now has to wait and see if the DA office will prosecute Sanchez or not. Mary’s attorneys are asking the DA to file hate crime charges against the California woman. “This woman in Simi Valley attacked Mary, attacked her unborn child, and attacked the street vendor community here in Los Angeles,” one of the attorneys told the press. The only good thing in this situation is that Mary only suffered bruises on her abdomen, but doctors say she will be okay.
People Reacting to the California Woman’s Actions
People were left fuming after they witnessed the California woman attacking Mary. Some called for her to be doxxed so that they could get her fired from her job. This led one person to ask people to be careful so that they won’t dox the wrong person. They wrote, “Please make sure you’re pulling up the correct Julie Sanchez, or whatever her real OR correct name is… I Googled that name in which a much younger woman pops up who’s also an RN in that area. You don’t want the WRONG person to be fired over this!”
Others claimed that Simi Valley isn’t a safe place and that this situation is not surprising. “Sounds like Simi Valley… Sigh,” one person wrote. Another person pointed out how the California woman’s last name was Sanchez. “That stupid racist b*tch’s last name is SANCHEZ?” they wrote. To which one responded by saying, “It really be your own kind sometimes.” One Redditor was left shocked by how the California woman went after Mary who is pregnant. “Going after someone who’s pregnant is the lowest of the lowest one can go. F**k racist folks who go after vulnerable people. The deranged Karen is a threat to public safety and people of color. Lock her up!!!!!!” they wrote. One thing that is certain is that this was a hate crime and should be treated as such.
