A California woman has apparently had a less-than-stellar experience visiting one of her local drive-thru coffee shops. After getting an order, she claims her blended treat didn’t come with an order of someone’s tooth.

TikTok user Koyahna, Koy, details the drama on her personal TikTok profile. She showed a picture of the alleged tooth crown, but followed up with questions for Dutch Bros. After multiple calls, they claimed they were unaware about the tooth situation. She asked them, “Do you want me to email you the tooth that I found in my coffee?” Unfortunately, they told her they’d give her a call back. She said the entire situation “feels like a joke.”

In an update, Koy says someone in charge of the coffee shop called her. He said they did an internal investigation with the company where they get their cookie dough from. She did say that, upon investigation, they found the crown didn’t come from any of the workers.

When they investigated the cookie dough company, they said they follow “strict policy” and said they aren’t at fault. Koy was cynical about this, and asked, “Why would any of these companies claim at fault? No company is going to claim that they’re at fault?” According to her, the company just told her the case was closed.

Viewers are equally concerned for the alleged tooth’s owner

Over a span of several days Koy had followed up with several update videos, with the latest of her sharing that her case was indeed closed. That didn’t stop viewers from sharing their opinions and possible legal avenues. “Can you DNA test the tooth,” one commenter asked. Some thought it was unlikely—it’s not a real tooth, but a fake crown.

Others were more concerned someone would have tooth decay so badly their crown falls out. A user claiming to be a dental hygienist argued the most likely reason is “active decay under the crown.” She added, “That means, there is active bacteria in that crown that was in your drink. That is contagious and can give you a cavity.” The viewer encouraged Koy to lawyer up and “get your bag.”

A cynical viewer shared in one of her updates that Koy was “doing this for views.” She commented back, saying “YES ABSOLUTELY I WANNA BE HEARD THIS IS GROSS DUHHH,” and argued that it was about bringing attention to a “serious health violation.”

Koy made several update videos, with the latest of her sharing that her case is indeed closed. However, she has also shared dissatisfaction with the internal investigation. She has since said she’s been in tough with the Health Department and is speaking with a pro-bono lawyer to get some answers.
