From getting ban-kicked for no reason to the game crashing when players try changing their clan tags regardless of the platform, Call of Duty HQ is soaked in bugs and issues beyond annoying these days. The worst part is that every single Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 6 update has injected new bugs into the HQ, and it seems like the cycle isn’t going to end anytime soon. But why?
It’s been years since Call of Duty HQ has become a thing, and ever since its presence back in 2020, the games have run into serious issues in their updates. The game crashing, certain menus not loading, or Battle Pass not progressing — the number of bugs we’ve seen in CoD in the past couple of years is beyond measure. Hell, I couldn’t even sign in and play for Adler’s sake after the Black Ops 6 Season 2 Reloaded update!
Speaking of which, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6‘s release, it’s like every single seasonal update brings forth a new bug for both BO6 and Warzone. For instance, the MW3 gun camos can’t be changed on built loadouts, you can’t change attachments in Warzone pre-match, and there are people floating outside the map in Black Ops 6 Multiplayer. Check this out:
As you can see in the Reddit post above, this bug is in a match of infected mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Multiplayer after a 2.5 GB update released today on March 5, 2025. I wanted to test this out myself after finding this post on Reddit, but it seems like the Infected mode is removed from the playlist, so it’s safe to assume that the developers are working on a fix.
I’m no expert in game development and I don’t write codes, but as a fan who’s been following and playing Call of Duty games for two decades, I’ve never seen this many bugs in a CoD game before. And I can say that there’s something about the Warzone integration and the CoD HQ overall. I could be wrong, but we’ve seen this for many years now.
With all the bad news and the recent delay on Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 3, fans like me are looking at the next big update as the ultimate savior. The return of Verdansk and a big patch is all we need for a big return for Call of Duty, but there is sad news if the game doesn’t make it.
Call of Duty: Warzone Might Get Ditched

This comes from a reliable insider and leaker TheGhostOfHope on X, and it’s wild to hear but not shocking. Call of Duty 2026 is rumored to be Modern Warfare 4, and with all the leaks about its plans, it seems like Call of Duty: Warzone is getting ditched like they did with Warzone 1 if the game fails to meet expectations.
If Activision stops the 8th-generation console support for Modern Warfare 4, it would make sense to stop Warzone from growing more branches. That means two things: CoD HQ will probably see its dawn, or at least it’d have much fewer bugs to worry about. However, it’d be much better if they make Warzone its own game instead, please.
