Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (the 2022 one, not the 2009 one) is set to launch on PC and consoles on October 28, featuring new and familiar faces to the reboot. The news was announced through a drone fly-by of a setup cargo ship, which you can find in the tweet below or at this link.
What Do We Know About Modern Warfare 2 So Far?

In the trailer, several classic voices are heard of John Price, also simply known as Price, alongside fan-favorites Kyle Garrick (Gaz) and Simon Riley (Ghost). Some new faces have come in out of the shadows though, including such characters as John MacTavish, also simply known as Soap (what the hell kind of name is Soap?) alongside Roach, one of several protagonists from the 2009 version. The trailer then ends off with some iconic nods to the original Modern Warfare 2, alongside that release date of October 28, 2022.
With that in mind, what else do we know regarding the game? Well, Activision and Infinity Ward (developers of this title) have remained tight-lipped thus far so we can only go off of leaks and speculation. If you’re into that sort of thing, many high-profile sources in the industry have gleaned that the game will include a new mode called DMZ, which will act similarly to Escape from Tarkov in its whole go in, loot, extract without dying-type playstyle. There’s also been a number of details thrown around regarding what’s confirmed for the upcoming Warzone 2, which is set to expand upon the original greatly. We’ll need to wait and see how that plays out to properly know more though.
In the meantime, there’s plenty of room for us to speculate about various parts of the game. Are there any other details the “trailer” for Modern Warfare 2 shows we didn’t catch? Will the standard multiplayer offering evolve or play it safe? How will the Warzone story developments play into this? We’ll need to wait and see before we know more, but we’ll be sure to let you know when we do.
