While the Call Of Duty Blog has not announced the exact timing of the event, it has dubbed it “an era-defining franchise event showcasing the immediate future of Call of Duty.”
Call Of Duty: Next will include information about:
- The upcoming Modern Warfare 2
- Call of Duty: Warzone 2
- New details relating to the mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone
- A Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer reveal
- Popular streamers playing the games live
- Some mysterious “surprises”
Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Open Betas
Two public betas will take place after the Call Of Duty: Next event. The first beta will be a PlayStation exclusive and will be held from September 16-20. The second beta will take place from September 22-26 and will be available on all platforms with crossplay.
Those who have pre-ordered the Modern Warfare 2 game will get early access to the beta; if you want to get in, check the Call of Duty blog for more information on how to do so.
Rumors about Modern Warfare 2 being worked on by Infinity Ward were finally confirmed. The sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare will be released on October 28. The game will be using a brand new engine developed specifically for Modern Warfare 2 and will feature a new sandbox mode.
This might be the last Call Of Duty game to be released annually. It was confirmed that next year’s game has been pushed forward another year and so will be arriving sometime in 2024.
This major change is probably due to Microsoft acquiring Activision Blizzard. But so far, there are no plans to make the Call Of Duty franchise an Xbox exclusive.
