The developers have started sprinkling the Black Ops 6 Season 2 events into the game and one of them has a prize that changes the gameplay. The all-new Slip Stream perk is here to shift the action of the running scenes in Black Ops 6 Multiplayer and throw the Tac Sprint into the shadows. And well, fans seem to like this.
Call of Duty has been juggling different movement mechanics since the day we started jetpack jumping in Advanced Warfare. However, it all came to an end with Modern Warfare 2019, introducing a more grounded gameplay with the addition of an extra running mechanic, the Tactical Sprint.
This worked really well with the movement speeds of MW 2019, Black Ops Cold War, Vanguard, and even MW2. However, with Black Ops 6‘s release and the introduction of the Omnimovement, everything went south with players moving way too fast this time. Apply an stim shot now and it’s like Tokyo Drift on Rebirth Island for some reason.

That is why some fans, like me, want Tactical Sprint to be gone. The original walk-and-run gameplay of Call of Duty is more appealing to different playstyles, and well, there’s a new Black Ops 6 Multiplayer perk that allows just that. Slipstream buffs the normal running speed and it almost matches the Tac Sprint as tested by Charlie Intel.
So there’s a nice balance of movement speed with the Slipsteam perk in Black Ops 6 Multiplayer, which also improves the sprint-to-fire speed. Now isn’t this a better Call of Duty experience just like the way we had before? No super speedy operators moving around switching bases and fewer spawn kills thanks to the balanced speed. I mean, the way Nuketown plays right now is an absolute nightmare.
“Keep it in the game as the default movement and remove tac sprint” and “Tac sprint brings clunkiness” is exactly what’s going on with the comments about the new Slip Stream perk in Black Ops 6 Multiplayer. Maybe the Tac Sprint works in a game like Warzone where players have to run more and travel far distances. But in MP and even Zombies, Tac Sprint is just an extra button we’re forced to get along with.
