Call of Duty Vanguard, the next entry in the long-running FPS series, was announced recently and with it came to news of a multiplayer beta coming in September. This has become the norm for the series so that they can get people to play the game for free and possibly put their money down when it eventually hits store shelves. What wasn’t expected was the sudden announcement that alpha for one of the new modes in the game will be held this weekend. With it being such short notice, you may want to know how to get into the Alpha. This guide will show you how to get into the Call of Duty Vanguard PlayStation Alpha.
How to Get Into the Call of Duty Vanguard PlayStation Alpha
The Call of Duty Vanguard PlayStation Alpha will be starting on Friday, August 27, and is now officially available for pre-download. The Alpha will be the debut of the series’ newest mode, Champion Hill. Get your squad together and be ready to try out this Battle Royale meets Gunfight game mode.
Now that the Alpha is available for preload, here are the steps on how to get the Alpha on your PlayStation so that you are ready to enter the arena.
- Head over to the PlayStation Store.
- Search ‘Call of Duty Vanguard Alpha.’
- Select the Alpha and click the Download button.
- With all of this done, you will have to simply wait for the Alpha to begin on August 27 at 10 AM PT/1 PM ET.
The new Champion Hill mode is Vanguard’s version of the much-praised Gunfight mode in both Modern Warfare 2019 and Black Ops Cold War. The mode takes eight teams of either two or three and place them into a round-robin tournament where they will fight to eliminate each other across 4 different maps. Between rounds, teams will be able to use currency to improve and upgrade their arsenal. As an interesting evolution of the Gunfight mode, we will have to see how it plays during the Alpha to see if it will be a worthy addition to the game.
Call of Duty Vanguard will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on November 5.
