With the news of the next Call of Duty game right around the corner, people have a lot of questions. One of the biggest ones is whether or not we will see the return of the series’s Zombie mode, a mode that has become one of the major pillars of the franchise. Here, I will break down everything we know on if there will be zombies in Call of Duty:Vanguard.

Will Call of Duty: Vanguard Have Zombies?

In an official capacity, we do not know if there will be a Zombies mode coming in Vanguard, but there have been many rumors from credible sources as well as a number of precedents that can be used to make an informed guess. Firstly, lets at what we know about Vanguard. It will be taking place in World War 2 with its development being headed by Sledgehammer Games. Their last entry into the series, Call of Duty: WW2, did have a Zombies mode similar to the last three games before it in Advanced Warfare, Black Ops 3, and Infinite Warfare and the game that followed it, Black Ops 4. In fact, between 2015 and 2020, there has only been one game that did not have a zombies mode, 2019’s Modern Warfare.

With how popular the mode is, it would make sense that the mode would make a return, and a recent marketing email sent out to advertise the upcoming Vanguard title reveals that Treyarch is part of the list of studios working together on the game. Treyarch is the studio originally responsible for the Zombies mode and the creators of the latest entry in the series, Black Ops Cold War. Seeing their name attached to this project seems to confirm a few rumors.

Cod Vanguard Zombies Mode

There has been word circulating that Treyarch will be leading the development of the Zombies mode while Sledgehammer heads up campaign and multiplayer. Notable leaker and writer at DualShockers, Tom Henderson, has said as much in a series of tweets about the game. While this is all hearsay, it is important to note that Tom has a very strong track record when it comes to his leaks on recent Call of Duty games, so while it is smart to take what he says lightly, his past reporting as well as the mode’s extreme popularity make it seem clear that it will return under the watchful eyes of the mode’s creators, we cannot know 100% at this time. While it seems only logical that there will be a Zombies mode, we will have to wait and see if we get an official word during Vanguard‘s reveal event.

The Call of Duty: Vanguard Reveal Event will be held in Warzone, which is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
