It looks as though a version of Call of Duty: Warzone 2’s map has been leaked via a very reliable industry insider called Tom Henderson. The battle royale game is being developed in tandem with the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 title in an attempt to move the franchise back into a more positive public eye.
Tom Henderson is a very well-known and reputable insider, and he has published an image of the leaked map, which you can see below. Warzone 2’s map reveals several points of interest and a variety of other notable features that are looking likely to appear now.
What Else Do We Know About Warzone 2’s Map?
Warzone 2’s map shows quite a lot of water, and according to reports, the battle royale game will introduce a swimming mechanic in Warzone anyway. Players of the older maps (Verdansk and Caldera) will know that swimming was not supported, and attempts to even try this would result in death.
This leaked map includes plenty of POIs, including Oasis, War-torn, Quarry, Oilfield, Modern City, Hydro Station, Marshes, Harbor, and plenty more. The colors are easily distinguishable as well, with the water being blue, the land being brown, and the rail track being black, which are kind of obvious.
Tom Henderson also reported just this month that the map would include POIs that appeared in Modern Warfare 2. These points of interest consist of Highrise, Quarry, Terminal, and Afghan, so that’s a little blast from the past, isn’t it? Warzone 2’s map will have a secondary purpose as well, to house Modern Warfare 2’s third mode (DMZ), which is supposed to be a mix of PvP and PvE.
Anyway, take another look at Warzone 2’s map, keep a copy as well if you want, and see if this is the same when the battle royale game comes out in the hopefully not too distant future.
