Want to know if Tirtouga can be Shiny in Pokemon Go? Prehistoric Pokemon have always been popular with the gaming community. Because in addition to their unique appearance and high rarity, they often have good characteristics. And luckily, the Adventure Week 2023 event invites you to fully enjoy hunting Pokemon that roamed the world long before the original anime history of this world. One such Pokemon is Tirtouga, a massive sea turtle with a durable shell and a suspicious smile. But real fans are interested in something else. Does this Pokemon have an alternate form? Here we will answer this question.

Can You Catch Shiny Tirtouga in Pokemon Go?

Luckily for fans of sea turtles and prehistoric creatures, the answer is Yes, Tirtouga can be Shiny in Pokemon Go. Moreover, this Pokemon received a unique color a year ago, on June 7, 2022, during Adventure Week 2022, so it’s nothing new for seasoned trainers. However, like any other prehistoric Pokemon, Tirtouga is an extremely rare pocket monster that does not often visit the Pokemon Go game world.

However, now you have the best opportunity to get Shiny Tirtouga in your collection. After all, from July 27 to August 2, 2023, during the Adventure Week 2023 event, you can meet dozens of Tirtouga just walking along your favorite routes. However, the chance of getting Shiny Tirtouga is low, only 1/500. So be patient and Incense to attract as many dinosaur Pokemon as possible and increase your chances of success. Also, we advise you to walk near the water, as Tirtouga spawns here more often.

But if you missed this event, don’t worry. This Pokemon will surely return in future updates. Tirtouga has appeared several times in the game as a reward for Research Tasks and in 7 and 10-km eggs. But it is worth noting that in 3 years in Pokemon Go, it has never become a raid boss. So, it may visit the raid gym in the next half a year.

What Does Shiny Tirtouga Look Like?

As for the Shiny Tirtouga’s appearance, it’s very different from that base form. The base blue color of the body changes to green turquoise, while the dark blue color of the shell takes on a grayish tint. The Shiny version of this Pokemon looks like it would have grown up in shallow water between reefs and bright sunshine. At the same time, this Pokemon’s base form has lived its entire life deep in the ocean.
