The strategy-action-oriented Minecraft Legends is now available on all current gaming platforms. Here, players take their Swords, round up troops, gather up to three friends, and go to battle against the encroaching Piglins army. Speaking of Swords, Minecraft features seven types of Swords that you can use. The bladed weapons range from the weak Golden Sword to the monster bane forged from Netherite. They can also be Enchanted to improve their power. So, that leaves the question: Can you upgrade your Sword in the action-adventure spin-off, Minecraft Legends?

Minecraft Legends – Can You Upgrade Your Sword?

Minecraft Legends: Lead the Charge

Unfortunately, you cannot get any kind of upgrade for your Sword or weapons in Minecraft Legends. Considering the standard game lets you craft a number of both melee and ranged weapons as well as armor, it is quite disappointing that Minecraft Legends does not offer at least the same amount of customization and progression in the game.

On the other hand, do remember that Minecraft Legends is a strategy game. Instead of focusing on your personal combat and crafting skills to survive the days, the game asks you to utilize your micromanaging prowess to successfully lead an Army and strategically place defenses in order to clear out challenging missions. And while you are not a one-man army that can tear through every obstacle alone, your basic Sword should be able to handle most things that the Piglins throw in its direction. In that regard, as a spin-off, Minecraft Legends aims to offer both veteran and new players a completely new gameplay experience set in the familiar blocky world of Minecraft.

Then again, the extremely popular MOBA genre, derived from the Warcraft III real-time strategy game mod, has an in-depth character-building system. Maybe Mojang will update the game down the line to add more customization and character progression options.

Nevertheless, you can still upgrade some elements of your Army from the Well of Fate using Prismarine and Gold. Here’s how you can come by both materials throughout your playthrough:

Prismarine:

  • Destroy Piglin structures such as Piglin Pit, Blaze Rod Towers, and Nether Spreaders.
  • Find and open Allay and Piglin Chests.
  • Clear Outposts and Bases.
  • Destroy a Portal will automatically destroy other structures as well.
  • Successfully defend a Village (above 0% HP) during a night raid, and the Chest will reward you with Prismarine.

Gold:

  • Destroy Mining Drill Structures.
  • Find and open Allay and Piglin Chests.
