While many game developers might shrink from showing the public their unreleased projects, Volition is an exception. The studio, which is best known for their Saints Row games, has announced that they will be streaming another addition to that franchise – the never-announced, never-released game Saints Row Undercover.
Volition even offered fans of the series a brief look at the spin-off game. Apparently, Saints Row Undercover was intended to be a port of Saints Row 2 for the PSP but quickly developed into its own game when the original plan wasn’t possible.
The Undercover game was similar to the other games in the series, in that it was an open world, action-adventure game, but it had a story all its own. It even had a tutorial level and some amount of player customization put in before it was cancelled by Volition and former owner THQ in 2009. Staff had all but forgotten that the game even existed.
