Candace Cameron Bure has never been quiet about her beliefs. The Christian actress, best known for playing DJ Tanner on Full House, has become an outspoken advocate for her beliefs. Now an adult, Candace has explored different avenues of her career. She’s found her place both in front of and behind the camera as the COO of the Great American Family channel.
Moving on to GAFC, Candace left behind her relationship with Hallmark, where she amassed many fans. She explained that decision in a recent Instagram Q&A.
Candace Says Moving On Was About Her Career Opportunities
Candace Cameron Bure decided to move on from Hallmark, who she partnered with on several films, in 2022. She says that despite her decision to move on from Hallmark, there’s no bad blood there.
It wasn’t so much about leaving as it was about an opportunity to grow a new network that puts faith and family at the forefront of its content. I’m very proud of the work I did at Hallmark for 15 years and love all my friends there.
I’m more than an actor. Growth in my company as well as my achievements in business is extremely important to me.

Many people believe that the breakaway from Hallmark as a dismissal of the network’s inclusive decisions. They believe Cameron made moves to remove herself from Hallmark after their values no longer appeared to mirror her own.
Candace went on to discuss movies she’s making for GAFC. The veteran actress is next working on a mystery series and a Christmas film. She also continues to host her eponymous podcast. There, she opens up more about her life and beliefs with various guests.
The Full House Alum Was Met With Backlash For Great American Family Channel
The actress saw Great American Family Channel as a business opportunity. That said, it wasn’t an easy sell to fans. When fans claimed it was a hateful move, Candace responded.
I am a devoted Christian. Which means that I believe that every human being bears the image of God. Because of that, I am called to love all people, and I do. If you know me, you know that I am a person who loves fiercely and indiscriminately. My heart yearns to build bridges and bring people one step closer to God, to love others well, and to simply be a reflection of God’s huge love for all of us.,” she continued in her lengthy rant.
I have long wanted to find a home for more faith-based programming. I am grateful to be an integral part of a young and growing network. I had also expressed in my interview, which was not included, that people of all ethnicities and identities have and will continue to contribute to the network in great ways both in front of and behind the camera, which I encourage and fully support.
