In celebration of the zombie slaying franchise’s 10th anniversary, Capcom is bringing Dead Rising, Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 13.
The games are currently slated to be available in North America and Europe as digital downloads both individually or bundled. Players will be able to grab any of the Dead Rising games mentioned above on PS4 and Xbox One for $20 USD/€20/£16 each. For those who want to revisit all of the games, Capcom has also bundled all three games for $50 USD/€50/£40. Additionally, the first Dead Rising will be available on Steam.
Capcom has done more than simply render the old titles, as each game has been completely enhanced for current generation consoles. Sporting 1080p visuals and running at 60 fps, the remasters will run very smoothly on the PS4 and Xbox One.
Capcom will also be including all previously releases DLC costumes for each game as well, that may not sound like a lot but rest assured, there are a lot of costumes.
Although it was previously announced that Capcom would be bringing the original Dead Rising to the PS4, the addition of the sequels comes as welcoming news.
The Dead Rising franchise has seen an odd release schedule, with the first 2 being on both PlayStation and Xbox. When the series made the jump to current-gen platforms Microsoft had attained exclusivity for Dead Rising 3 on Xbox One. Interestingly, the series has made a shift to timed exclusivity such as other Xbox One timed exclusive Rise of the Tomb Raider, which saw a PS4 release a year after it’s Xbox One launch.
Alongside the remasters, Dead Rising will be celebrating it’s anniversary with the release of Dead Rising 4 as a timed-exclusive for the Xbox One and Windows 10 on December 6, no release date for PS4 has been announced.
