This is not a dream folks, Capcom VS SNK 1 and 2 are actually coming back in a big way. Capcom has just announced the Capcom Fighting Game Collection 2 during the Nintendo Direct event today, and it’s coming in 2025. Although we didn’t get an exact release date for Capcom Fighting Game Collection 2, we got a ton of other information about what it includes. The collection comes with a total of eight games, many of which are absolute fan favorites that were thought to be lost to the annals of time, relegated to emulators and ancient machines. You can see the complete list below:
- Capcom VS SNK 1
- Capcom VS SNK 2
- Project Justice
- Capcom Fighting Evolution
- Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper
- Plasma Sword
- PowerStone 1
- PowerStone 2
The reveal trailer, which you can watch above, shows all the games and confirms some of the features we can expect. Like the previous Capcom Fighting Game Collection from 2022, all the games in the new collection will have a training mode with inputs and hitboxes, online modes with rollback netcode, an artwork section for all games, and a jukebox mode.
At the end of the trailer, the company also confirmed that the recently revealed Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, which took the world by storm, is coming out next month on September 12, 2024.
Fighting game fans have been in for a treat this year, with the release of SvC Chaos, Terry and Mai coming to Street Fighter 6, classic games being revived like MvC2 and CvS2, and much more. In this world of crossovers that were previously thought impossible, there is a ray of hope that we might get to see Capcom VS SNK 3 sometime in the future.
