If there are two films that every superhero fan is dying to see next year, they would be Captain America: Civil War and Batman v Superman. Warner Bros. has plenty of reasons to be confident about Batman v Superman. The basic premise of two of the most iconic superheroes ever going head to head in a live action film is gold just by itself. Meanwhile, Disney clearly has a lot of faith in Captain America: Civil War’s potential given that it’s the film they’ve chosen to go up against BvS. Looks like 2016 will be the year for films about non-powered billionaire heroes going up against patriotic superheroes with actual powers.
There’s just one question on the lips of everyone eagerly waiting for Captain America: Civil War;
When is Disney going to release the trailer for it?
BvS has had a teaser trailer and a full-length trailer out for months at this point. Meanwhile, the best Captain America: Civil War has managed to produce are a couple of posters showing how massively outgunned Cap’s team is. Seriously, if Spider-Man doesn’t side with team Cap, they’ll be in danger of getting steamrolled.
But maybe there’s method in Disney’s madness. After all, what other major franchise is Disney pushing pretty hard at the minute? That’s right Star Wars. According to IGN, rumours are surfacing that Civil War’s first trailer will debut with ‘The Force Awakens’.
This does make a lot of sense if it’s true. After all, it’s a bit of an understatement to say that a lot of people will be going to see the newest installment from ‘A Galaxy Far Far Away’. Warner Bros. has been building excitement and interest for BvS for years at this point. Perhaps Disney has decided to try a different approach rather than try and play catch up.
