Carrie Underwood had Instagram on the floor with her killer legs last weekend, but it looks like users were on the fence about her leggy shorts. All smiles after performing on Good Morning America as she continues to promote her Las Vegas Residency, Carrie sizzled in a minuscule pair of Daisy Dukes, going full cowgirl with her matching boots but nonetheless winding up with the thumbs-down.
While many praised the 40-year-old for her muscular legs, others eyed up her style, and they weren’t impressed. Carrie is in the news right now for confirming a return to competition series American Idol. For fans, it’s likely doubly exciting given that her entire career began with her 2005 American Idol win.
Carrie Underwood Turns Heads Ahead Of ‘American Idol’ Return
All smiles and holding a mic, Carrie highlighted her super-toned legs in a skintight, medium-blue pair of denim shorts.
Proving that those workouts are paying off, the blonde swung a hip slightly from a glossed stage, placing one hand to her waist as she drew the eye down to her knee-high denim cowboy boots. Adding pops of color from a glitter floral-embellished jacket, Carrie kept summery in her jazzy ensemble, which also included a tight white top tucked into her shorts.
Adding even more flair, the “Cry Pretty” singer rocked multicolor gemstones around her waist, where a hanging belt-come-belly chain accentuated her trim hips. Looking flawless on the glam front, Carrie sported her light locks down and blow-dried, showing off her features with matte foundation and tons of perfectly applied blush.
Told Shorts Are ‘Ugly’ And ‘Unflattering’
In a caption, Just Jared wrote: “Carrie Underwood appeared on the “GMA” Summer Concert Series on Friday morning to promote her Vegas residency and chat about her new “American Idol” gig.”
The photo, shared two days ago, has since garnered both positive and negative replies. “Clearly, Mrs. Underwood NEVER misses leg day” was a comment gaining likes. Agreeing, another said that the Fit52 founder’s legs are “leg goals.”
Then again, there were those slamming the outfit. “This gorgeous woman needs a new stylist STAT,” one fan said. “Very unflattering shorts,” another replied, with a third calling the cutoffs “ugly.”
“This girl is stuck in 2005,” a further user stated.
Carrie likely isn’t paying attention to fan remarks as she both enjoys her current tour and eyes up a 2025 return to American Idol as a judge. She will join judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie for the 23rd season of the show, one also seeing 39-year-old singer Katy Perry gone.
Carrie also keeps busy with her CALIA clothing line, Fit52 workout app, and promos while juggling married life and being a mom of two.
