The beloved third season of Netflix’s Castlevania is set to return early next month. Netflix’s Castlevania has received a lot of praise during its run, due to its similarities to the beloved franchise while creating its own narrative. Netflix Nordic originally tweeted that Castlevania season 3 would release early in 2020 but would later delete that tweet. After a year + hiatus, Alucard and the others are set to continue their battle against the forces of evil.
Last season, Alucard, Trevor Belmont, and Sypha Belnades successfully were able to exact their revenge on Dracula. Sadly, their revenge came at a cost, and a new potentially more vicious vampire queen has emerged from the shadows. Castlevania season 2 was released in October of 2018 just in time for Halloween. Castlevania season 3 is scheduled to be released on Thursday, March 5th, 2020. March 5th seems to hold no Historical or Holiday relevance. The only event of historical significance is when Roman Emperor Julian attacked the Sasanian Empire, leading to his inevitable death. Could vampires have been to blame?
At the moment, the plot of Castlevania season 3 is unknown; however, from the announcement poster, we can determine that Carmilla will be the overarching villain. Also, Rinaldo Gandolfi, an alchemist introduced in the game Castlevania: Lament of Innocence, will make an appearance.
Voice Actors & DMC Tie-In
James Callis will reprise his role as Alucard. In addition, Richard Armitage (Trevor Belmont) Alejandra Reynoso (Sypha Belnades) and Jaime Murray (Carmilla) will reprise their roles as well. Who will be the voice of Rinaldo, and will Dracula return as a memory or inner voice? Executive producer Adi Shankar might have Castlevania season 3 be a bridging season to merge Castlevania with Devil May Cry. We will just have to wait and see what is to unfold during Castlevania season 3. If season 3 is anything like season 2, then we are in for a wild ride.
