Kris Jenner and the Kardashian family have strong ties to OJ Simpson. Many fans will remember that Kris’ first husband, Robert Kardashian Sr., even defended the former NFL player during his murder trial. Kris and the family were close friends of OJ, his wife Nicole Brown Simpson, and their children. However, after he was accused of murdering Nicole and her friend, Ronald Goldman, everything changed. Although OJ was acquitted of the crime, his friendship with Kris and the rest of the Kardashian crew was never the same. The duo were even said to be feuding at the time of his death.
According to Radar Online, OJ died following a battle with cancer. Following his death, sources claimed that he was furious with Kris and her famous family. In the years following his controversial murder trial, he wanted his fame back. OJ allegedly believed that Kris and her brood had the power to help restore his career and reputation in the years after his acquittal. However, they never made the attempt to do so.
Kris Jenner and Kardashians Wanted Nothing To Do with OJ Simpson
“He’s fed up with being avoided like the plague or outright ignored by celebrities — and he’s convinced Kris could change all that by inviting him back into her inner circle,” an insider said before OJ Simpson’s death. “He has tried everything to get Kris to let him back in. But she’s made it clear she’s got no time for him — and he’s seeing red over it.”
Interestingly, Kris Jenner allegedly refused to help him in any way. Of course, if she had it likely would have been bad for her own reputation. “He doesn’t understand why he was dropped from Kris’ friends list. He wants her to help and exonerate his name from the murder of Nicole — or throw him a bone on Instagram or Twitter at the very least,” the insider said at the time.
Meanwhile, with OJ Simpson’s death, it looks like Kris Jenner and the rest of the Kardashians might break free of the shadow that he cast over the family.
