If you’re a Google Stadia user, prepare to be emotionally affected as Celeste soon comes to Stadia alongside El Hijo – A Wild West Tale.
Celeste originally released in early 2018 on all the modern systems one would expect, but El Hijo has yet to be released anywhere. Taking the form of a non-violent stealth game in a spaghetti western inspired world, El Hijo – A Wild West Tale does not yet have a release date. Under development by Honig Studios, El Hijo puts players in the shoes of a the titular six-year-old boy trying to find his mother. Players must make use of stealth mechanics to get around threats, and new abilities will unlock as El Hijo grows on his journey. Violence is replaced with playfulness, as El Hijo learns to live in his new reality after his mom and him are attacked by bandits who burn down their farm.
A new trailer for El Hijo – A Wild West Tale was released alongside the announcement of it coming to Stadia. It will also release on Steam, as well as for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
Celeste soon comes to Stadia
Released to critical acclaim in 2018, Celeste is a platforming game. Players must take control of Madeline and reach the top of Celeste Mountain, all while fighting her inner demons. With simple controls and a narrative-driven story, while Celeste can be difficult at some points, it can still be enjoyed by a wide range of people. As Celeste soon comes to Stadia, an even larger audience will be able to play.
Celeste also features an emotional soundtrack by Lena Raine, who was recently brought on by Mojang to create new music for Minecraft. Check out our review of the last piece of DLC for Celeste, which released last September.
With more games being announced for Google Stadia, it’s becoming a larger competitor in the video game space. If you use Stadia, let me know in the comments if you’re excited about Celeste or El Hijo coming to the platform. If you haven’t used Stadia, do announcements like these make you any more likely to?
