Century: Age of Ashes is a new title by developer Playwing LTD. It is coming to Steam early next year, answering a question many have had since the Panzer Dragoon series graced us. Riding on dragons seems like an intense adrenaline rush. But what if you had to take on live players as you rode your scaly mount? There’s also more to the game than simply riding a legendary creature into battle.
Century: Age of Ashes Game Modes
Century: Age of Ashes is touted as a multiplayer shooter. Players can take on opponents in matches that consist of 3v3 or 6v6v6. Jump into the arena solo or bring friends along for the ride. The game will have a variety of game modes to keep you on your toes: Carnage, Survival, and Raid.
Carnage – Participate in a 6v6 battle, acquiring various power-ups along the way. Essentially a team deathmatch mode with fire-breathing giant lizards.
Survival – The game will divide 18 players into teams of 3. Only an ally can rescue and revive you, but respawn is fairly limited. Bring ruin to your opponents and come out with your team as the last one standing.
Raid – Century: Age of Ashes pits two teams against each other in a Capture The Flag mode. Fly through gates the earn you points as you retain possession of the enemy flag.
Unlock new skins through gameplay as you earn experience. While they will certainly add a level of individuality, rest easy knowing the skins give one purely cosmetic changes. Whatever match you participate in, you will have to rely on individual skills and cohesive teamwork.
Century: Age of Ashes will be hitting the Steam market in February next year. It will be free-to-play, meaning you can jump in right on launch. Will you be purchasing this upcoming title? Let me know in the comments!
