Channing Tatum loves being hands-on when parenting his daughter Everly, 11. The two take many trips and adventures together and enjoy spending time together. For the most part, Channing claims he can hang and doesn’t mind his daughter’s requests, that is, until it comes to her scary side.
During a candid interview on The Late Show with Seth Meyers this week, he shared his heartfelt commitment to parenting. He expressed his deep love for spending quality time with his daughter Everly, and they have shared some unforgettable adventures over the summer.
The Magic Mike star says his daughter Everly, 11, is obsessed with witches and the paranormal. He tells Seth Meyers that she has begged him to take her to Salem since she was about five. Channing admits he recently finally gave in to his daughter’s request to visit Salem.
“She’s been wanting to go to Salem maybe for the last seven years of her life. And we get there, and I’m like “Maybe this will be one of those moments where she’s like, Oh, it’s not what I thought.” You know?’ However that was not the case he explains, “she was so leaning in.”
Channing Tatum Reveals Horrifying Parenting Moments
Their adventure didn’t stop there, he continues. Next, they spent the night at The Hawthorne Hotel, deemed one of Salem’s most haunted places. Channing says things took a scary turn, and the hotel staff warned them: “They were like, “Don’t go to the third floor or the sixth floor.” I was like, “Not gonna do that, like, at all.”
‘My daughter was just like, “Let’s just go up there a little bit. Like, let’s just go up and walk up the stairs and, like, look for a second and then run back down.”‘
Channing then humorously admitted, ‘No, I’m not about it. I’m like “You go up there.”‘ While the pair have differing views on the paranormal, the actor said, “She loved it so much. The whole town, they really lean into the history of it [Salem Witch Trials].”
It was a fun yet spooky adventure for the father-daughter team, but according to Channing Tatum, it does not compare to the ‘horrifying’ moment he knows he will soon have to face with his daughter.
Channing claims that it hit him this summer when he and Everly attended a Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert, and he has some explaining to do. He reveals that as he and Everyl danced to Taylor, he suddenly realized he didn’t dance like his usual self. He admits he avoided doing anybody’s roles from the Magic Mike film while grooving to Swift’s hit tracks with his daughter. “There was zero of that.”
He then added, ‘I’m so grateful that she doesn’t know how I dance,’ which prompted the host to question when Everly will possibly see the films. “It’s going to happen.” Channing Tatum laughs, admitting that it will be horrifying when it does.
