At 60, the actor is more focused on staying grounded and looking to the future through clear eyes. Charlie Sheen’s spiral was a wild one, to say the least. In 2011, his drug addiction began to spiral out of control.
His drug binges, outlandish interviews, and a career collapse left him labeled Hollywood’s wildest cautionary tale. Today, as he reflects back on his past, Charlie Sheen admits he still deals with a lot of shame from those years according to National Enquirer reports.
“Most of my 50s were spent apologizing to the people I hurt,” Sheen states.“These are the moments that hit me, of the heinous memories and choices and consequences.”
However, each day he continues to work hard to keep his sobriety intact. Sheen admits that what pushed him to finally walk away from drugs and alcohol wasn’t fame or money. It was his children.
Charlie Sheen Steps Up For Family
His daughters with Denise Richards, Sami and Lola, along with his twins Max and Bob, became his reason to survive. Most fans will recall Charlie Sheen’s rock bottom. It began with his firing from Two and a Half Men.
From there, Charlie spiralled out of control daily. He then gave numerous bizarre interviews, one in which he declared he was a warlock with tiger blood in his veins.

During his downfall, his three greatest loves at the time were crack, opiates, and heroin. Today’s Charlie sees life entirely differently with his focus on family, with a few unexpected twists.
This chapter shows a different kind of atonement. He’s showing support to ex-Denise in her time of need and protecting his children. But staying committed to sobriety may be the truest measure of his redemption. While he may never fully outrun the ghost of his self-destructive past, his actions suggest a man determined to prove to his family that his future holds much more than his past.
