A woman in Chicago, Illinois, revealed in a viral clip that she got five meningitis shots, despite only needing two. The reason? Apparently, her doctor’s office continuously failed to register her vaccinations properly.

The woman, Bella, shared the story on TikTok. While doing her eyelashes, she revealed that the story happened back when she was 16 years old. Having infectious mononucleosis at the time, the then-teen was taken to the doctor’s office by her father.

Upon arrival, Bella figured that she could get her pending flu shot since she was already at the doctor’s office. However, as she had mono at the time, she was told that giving her the flu shot was impossible, as her “immune system was super weak.”

However, a nurse came in a bit later with a vaccination. Confused, the Chicago woman asked why they would give her a shot despite the previous warnings. Her father, however, was dismissive and told her to get the shot regardless.

Mysterious Shot Revealed

She did, but then she noticed that the vaccination was not in her whiteboard or on the doctor’s paperwork. Furthermore, no one told her what shot she actually got. Given that she was sick, she didn’t think much of it. However, once she and her father arrived home, Bella’s mother became worried after finding out what had ocurred.

They decided to call the doctor’s office, and, to their surprise, they were told that Bella hadn’t received a shot at all. Bewildered, they insisted she had, and the doctor’s office told them they would call them back. They did, and it turns out that she was given the second strain of the meningitis shot, meant for someone else.

The Illinois woman hadn’t received the first strain of the meningitis vaccinations. A blood test confirmed it was, indeed, the meningitis shot, and the doctor’s office then gave her the first strain of the shot, followed by the second strain again.

Five Meningitis Shots

Time goes by, and Bella is about to start college. She was asked for her vaccination records, and, after sending them over, no records of Bella receiving the meningitis vaccinations were found. She asked for her records, but instead, the doctor’s office told her they would be giving her the shots again.

At this point, Bella had five meningitis vaccinations. Worst of all? Once she got to law school in Chicago, Illinois, she was asked for her records once again. And, once again, the meningitis shots were nowhere to be found. She didn’t need a sixth or seventh shot, though, as her primary care physician corrected the mistake, ending her meningitis nightmare.

Many users urged Bella, an attorney, to sue her doctor’s office for medical malpractice. One user said, “It’s not too late to sue them.” Another one commented, “Dad needs to step up his game.” A third one added, “I’m dumbfounded that you WENT BACK?!!!“

Bella, however, is not planning on suing anyone anytime soon. She revealed she had no health issues following the weird shot extravaganza, and encouraged others to get their vaccinations in time.
