A family in Denver, Colorado, unfortunately saw one of their puppies pass away shortly after birth. They decided to hold a funeral for the dog, complete with Christian hymns, a pastor of sorts, a burial, and even the presence of the puppy’s mother. Shockingly, the puppy’s body was on full display.
The multi-part funeral saga was shared on TikTok by MissExie. Before dipping her content creator toes in the bizarre, she routinely shared lifestyle content. The clip attached above is the most viral of the series, garnering 4.7 million views, 800,900 likes, and more than 10,600 comments.
The Colorado family was celebrating the life of little puppy Milo, who had sadly passed away recently. They decided that they wanted to wave him goodbye with a bang, so they organized a very unusual service, funeral, and burial in his name.
From the get-go, things were out of the ordinary. In the family’s backyard, a whole altar was set up, filled with cushions and candles. Most notably, however, was Milo’s body itself, which was the centerpiece of the whole event.
A Bizarre Goodbye
Milo’s homegoing service began with the whole family taking part in a procession, slowly walking toward their seat. A man stood out from the rest, as he was wearing a pink dress and acted as if he were Milo’s grieving widow, crying over his dead body.
Shortly after, every guest began sharing their piece and the memories they shared with Milo. One guest even sang a song as he was lost for words. The whole place lit up in praise, as the guests began clapping and playing tambourines while singing.
The most emotional part of the funeral is depicted in the clip attached above. Milo’s canine mother, or dam, was brought to the scene to say her final goodbyes to her late puppy. The man with the microphone, who acted as a pastor of sorts, guided the moment with a Christian hymn and with some colorful commentary.
“I hope she don’t grab that baby and try to eat it,” he said, right before telling everyone to stand up.
Through more Christian hymns, Milo was buried in the backyard, his very last resting place. The Colorado family, meanwhile, cried, laughed, and acted as bizarrely as before.
Reactions
Viewers saw Milo’s funeral, and instead of being confused, matched the family’s energy. One viewer said, “I didn’t get a program or obituary card?” Another one commented, “Mama held it together so well for her baby.”
Others were shocked by what can only be described as a rapid-fire of increasingly eccentric elements to Milo’s goodbye. One wrote, “I am so sick of us we can’t take nothing seriously. I’m screaming.” Another one added, “Stop this trend before it starts lol.”
If something is for sure, Milo will always be remembered. As well as his over-the-top service.
