Stephen Colbert and The Boondocks creator Aaron McGruder executive produce the series. Guests on the show included: Vice President Kamala Harris, Kevin Hart, Ed Sheeran, and Meagan Good. Lenard McKelvey not only conducts interviews with his show but has sketches, deep dives, and “social experiments” to explore culturally relevant topics. McKelvey also executive produces the Comedy Central late-night series. Tha God’s Honest Truth With Charlamagne tha God mixes humor with politics like many other series on the channel, but it has McKelvey’s perspective. The weekly series premiered on Friday, September 17 at 10 pm EST. The second season will premiere this summer. The Comedy Central late-night series will be moving the old Daily Show studio in Hell’s Kitchen to a new place.
Lenard McKelvey Went From Being a Radio Host to a Late-Night Series Sensation

McKelvey started his career as an intern for Z93 Jamz in Charleston. ‘Charlamagne’ is derived from McKelvey’s time as a drug dealer and the ruler of Western Europe around 800 A.D. ‘Tha God’ just sounded cool to the late-night host. He turned heads with his intricate and frank questioning of hip hop and R&B artists on his various radio hosting gigs. Tha God’s Honest Truth With Charlamagne tha God host eventually landed the hosting position for the Hollywood Report YouTube series Emerging Hollywood. McKelvey’s straightforward style and political views eventually got Comedy Central’s attention. Since it’s start, Tha God’s Honest Truth With Charlamagne tha God has received critical acclaim.
