With the New Xbox Experience launching soon on Xbox One consoles we thought it would be helpful to have an updated list of the currently confirmed backwards compatible Xbox 360 games. As soon as the update, which is available starting November 12, 2015, is downloaded and installed on your Xbox One console you will be able to play these Xbox 360 games, granted you own either the physical copy or digital download of the game.

Additionally, during Microsoft’s press conference at Gamescom this year, a video was playing in the background in which a list of Xbox 360 games scrolled by. Several of these titles were not on the list of the games confirmed by Microsoft, however, their inclusion likely means they will eventually make their way to Xbox One.

  • Alan Wake
  • Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood
  • Assassin’s Creed II
  • Bayonetta
  • BioShock
  • BioShock Infinite
  • Borderlands
  • Brothers In Arms: Hell’s Highway

  • Trials

One last note, if you don’t see your favorite 360 games on the list, don’t fret. Microsoft added a new section to their Xbox Feedback page, allowing users to vote on which games they want to make the cut. Since it is ultimately up to the publisher as to whether or not their game is backwards compatible, there is no guarantee it ever ends up on the list, but there are certain things we must do for love, arbitrary or not.

Let us know which games you hope to make the cut in the comments section below.

Justin cut his teeth on Pitfall! and Yars' Revenge way back on the Atari 2600. Since, he has followed the generations through to the present. Now, you can most often find him on his PS4, but he is occasionally spotted on the Xbox One as well; he's kind of like the Sasquatch of Xbox One. Follow him on Facebook, he's incredibly boring!
