Connecticut Cops Slammed for Going Soft on Vince McMahon After 115 MPH Crash Into Civilian: ‘What Net Worth Unlocks This Cheat Code?’

You’ve got no chance

Wealthy people bending the law is a tale as old as time, though that doesn’t stop regular folks from pointing out the injustice, as happened recently with WWE titan Vince McMahon. McMahon notably crashed his sports car into another civilian’s car while running at 115 MPH and evading a state trooper patrol. Recent bodycam footage, however, reveals the Connecticut police all but rolled the red carpet for the former wrestler in how they handled his reckless driving case.

The incident occurred back in July 2025, but the bodycam footage from Connecticut State Troopers was released just recently. In the footage, you can see the Connecticut cop chasing McMahon’s $300,000 Bentley for a prolonged period at more than 100 MPH, before it ultimately slammed into a civilian’s BMW, sending the cheaper car more than 100 yards away. Thankfully, the BMW driver regained control and emerged relatively unscathed.

Meanwhile, McMahon was fine, and when the cop asked, “Why were you driving at over 100 miles an hour?” the WWE superstar answered, “I gotta go to my granddaughter’s birthday.” McMahon also admitted that he apparently couldn’t see the cop chasing him, which was why he didn’t stop. For some reason, the cop also asked McMahon whether a specific court date was acceptable, something many viewers called out.

Sure enough, critics thought McMahon also got off lightly. McMahon’s charges were dismissed, and the judge even ruled that a $1,000 donation to a pretrial program was sufficient punishment for what he did. McMahon did apologize to the civilian he crashed into, but she got lucky and stated, “McMahon saw me last minute and swerved, smashing into my left rear, but that if he had hit me full on, there might’ve been a very different ending for me.”

People Online Were Calling Out the Privilege

After the bodycam footage was released, commenters and viewers immediately lambasted the Connecticut state troopers, pointing out that a normal person would’ve been jailed, especially for felony evasion. One commenter said the quiet part out loud, “Two completely different justice systems. If any of us did 115 mph and totaled a car, we’d be tweeting from a jail cell. What net worth unlocks this cheat code?”

Naturally, some commenters had relatives or friends who had a similar case, and it didn’t turn out well for them. “My uncle did 10 years for something similar. But he wasn’t a McMahon.” Indeed, it’s not the first time a WWE star got a pass for harmful public behavior, as Ric Flair is no stranger to public altercations and stunts that often go unpunished.

What drew an even more absurd reaction from regular people online was how small the monetary fine was for McMahon: “115 mph + a crash = $1,000 fine. That’s not a penalty, that’s just the cost of the subscription to do whatever you want,” complains a commenter, while another stated, “$1,000 charity = case dismissed. Speeding ticket for the rest of us = bankruptcy.”
