Talk about stealthy releases. While we all saw the announcement of Counter-Strike 2 and its imminent arrival on Steam, an official date wasn’t set. Yet, there were clues here and there, looking to tease players into finding out when the launch day would be. Now, after years of waiting, veterans of this legendary FPS can enjoy the latest Counter-Strike 2 game. Anyone who opens Steam and gets past the long queue of people trying to download the game can jump into this new FPS title that will surely give birth to a new generation of first-person shooter players.

If you own CS: GO, you’ll get the new Counter-Strike 2 game for free, as the latter is replacing the former on Steam. This is great, as Valve seems to focus on their latest title instead of supporting both. However, as with any other big launch, expect Steam’s servers to crash, lag, and all sorts of shenanigans you can expect. Still, beyond that, today’s a day for the ages.

Seeing the sequel to one of the most famous and influential FPS titles arrive is something we don’t say daily. Some people speculated the release date for this game, but now, after years of rumors and conspiracies, it’s here.

The release of Counter-Strike 2 on Steam was accompanied by a fantastic and nostalgic title. For over a decade, Counter-Strike has been the home of many players, and the sequel is ready to welcome more. The free upgrade is available now, so you can jump right in after downloading this brand-new title.

Besides the graphical improvements one might expect, players can try several modes, such as Bomb Scenario, Hostage Scenario, Wingman, etc. If you’ve been craving a new FPS game and never played CS: GO, now’s the time. Head to Steam, pray for the servers not to implode, and prepare to jump into classic FPS fun.
