Running a small business — especially a Mexican restaurant — can be incredibly challenging. Beyond rising costs, staffing issues, financial pressures, and constant competition, owners also have to navigate ever-growing customer expectations. But what happens when the customer attempts to scam a restaurant by planting hair in the food and then complaining? Well, that’s exactly what happened to a Mexican restaurant in Texas, and the entire incident was caught on camera. The footage is currently circulating online.
The incident allegedly took place in Fajita Mexican Grill in Stafford, Texas, and appears to be filmed by the on-site security camera. In the clip, you can see a couple sat at a table, as they “enjoy” their meal. The man is sporting a yellow T-shirt and blue cap, while the woman is wearing a blue T-shirt. Accompanying the footage is the caption, “Please don’t do this to a small family business. We’re trying so hard to stay open.”
At the beginning, you can clearly see the woman take a strand of hair from her head, and then place the hair in the center of the table in front of her partner. While he’s eating his meal, the man picks up the hair and wraps it around his fork, which was some food on it. He then proceeds to call over a waiter to complain about the rogue hair that he “discovered” in his meal. When the waiter arrives, the man holds up a long strand of hair, prompting the waiter to take a closer look at the alleged issue.
As the video continues to circulate online, viewers have taken to the comments to share their opinions on the incident. Over on Reddit, one user wrote, “Name and shame these people. Like pictures on the wall when you walk in with their names.” while another shared a personal anecdote:
Happened to me several times when I worked in steakhouses. My favorite was a woman with bleached blonde, spiral permed hair who insisted the very pale, very curly hair must have come from me (stick straight red hair), one of my other cooks (a bald guy and a guy with a buzz cut), or their server (with turquoise hair).

I didn’t even bother with the manager. “Ma’am, you are the only blonde with curly hair in the entire restaurant. It’s your own hair.” We had a blond-headed guy with short hair behind the bar, and two other servers, both with brown hair. Manager had short dark hair. I don’t remember all the customers in the dining room of course, but absolutely nobody with blonde 80s rocker hair. And I just know she pulled it out and placed it on her plate herself, from the sheer amount of hairspray! 🤣
Meanwhile, on TikTok, one netizen expressed, “I hope you didn’t refund them!!” while another added, “I’ve found hair in my food multiple times and I just remove it and keep eating 😂😂”. According to another commenter, the couple was allegedly refunded the cost of their meal, as they penned, “The owner only noticed after they had left, ps the couple wasn’t charged for their meal“.
