This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Cowardly Maya is a boss located in Monad Passage on Tartarus Floor 91. Although it looks like a regular Shadow, this creature is extremely dangerous. You definitely want to defeat this Shadow because, likeย Elegant Mother, it is protecting valuable treasure chests. If you need help beating this boss, you can check out this handy guide to find out Cowardly Maya’s weakness and the best strategy you can use inย Persona 3 Reload.

How to Beat Cowardly Maya in Persona 3 Reload

Before you face Cowardly Maya, I recommend you reach Level 33 so you won’t have a tough time fighting this Shadow. Here are the boss’ weaknesses and resistances in Persona 3 Reload:

  • Weakness: None
  • Resist: None
  • Repel: None
  • Null: None
  • Absorb: None

Unfortunately, Cowardly Maya does not have any elemental weakness, so you must rely on physical attacks against this boss. Before you start the battle, you should activate Fuuka’s Sylphid Aura skill to increase your team’s attack, defense, accuracy, and evasion.

The most dangerous attack that Cowardly Maya can perform is Megido. This is a powerful spell that can deal Almighty damage to all of your team members. Although it won’t knock out any ally, it can deal significant damage. Your best bet to avoid damage is by increasing your team’s evasion or casting attack debuff on the boss.

Best Team Composition

Here is the team composition I recommend when facing Cowardly Maya in Persona 3 Reload:

  • DPS: Aigis
  • Healer: Yukari
  • Support: Mitsuru & Protagonist

Aigis will be your main damage dealer in this battle because her kit revolves around dealing physical attacks. Herย Cruel Attack skillย is quite effective against Cowardly Maya and can cause medium Pierce damage. Yukari will be your healer, and she should always cast Diarama on Aigis since physical skill costs HP.

Mitsuru and the protagonist will be supports since they can cast various debuffs on Cowardly Maya. If possible, you want the protagonist to use Rebellion to increase an ally’s critical rate. You may also want to equip the protagonist with Media so he can help Yukari with healing when necessary.

Lastly, you shouldย activate the Jack Brother skillย if you have unlocked the protagonist’s secondย Theurgyย ability. If you haven’t, you will need to register Jack-o’-Lantern and Jack Frost in your compendium to obtain it. This ability can deal medium Almighty damage to all foes and has a high chance of inflicting Down.
