Things sometimes could go wrong when you have a worker over to fix something for you. For example, they might steal something or break something else. They might even overcharge you. You don’t expect that one day you will discover that a worker was smelling your clothes. This is what happened to a California woman when she caught a worker sniffing her shorts while she wasn’t at home. She was rightly left disturbed by the entire situation and tried to find what she could do next in legal terms. If she ignored such a situation, who knows what might happen next?
In a post shared by the woman, she details how the window in her bedroom needed to be replaced. Her landlord called her and asked for permission to enter the apartment so that the window worker could start fixing it. She didn’t expect that this would somehow end creepily. When checking the footage caught by her baby monitor, she found the worker smelling her used shorts that were hanging off the bed frame. The pervert was even more disgusting as he also touched the crotch area of the shorts. If you thought it couldn’t get worse than this, it does. After the second time of him smelling the shorts, he lets out a “gross noise” which is something you never want to hear. Now, the woman is trying to get this accident on his record so it would become known that he is a pervert.
People Reacting to the Creepy California Worker
People were quick to advise the woman on what she should do now after what she saw. Several offered legal advice to let her know what her next steps should be. One person named four steps she should do immediately. “Even if it is not a crime, you should take action ASAP. This is deviant behavior and actions like these don’t happen in a vacuum. If not addressed, this behavior can progress into a crime. You don’t know this guy’s past or where he is in his evolution of sexual deviancy. This guy has fantasies that put you in danger. It sounds over-reactive, but it is a high risk, low reward position. To start, you should: (1) Hire an attorney. (2) Notify the police. (3) Notify the building manager. (4) Notify your neighbors,” they said.
Along with offering advice, the same person emphasized how serious this situation was. “I am sorry you are going through this. Please strong consider retaining an attorney. This could look like a silly situation, but I am afraid it’s potentially very dangerous. This guy might not be a predator, but you don’t want to find out,” they said. The situation is quite serious, and it might help the woman break her lease without any charges. “Landlord/PM here, not a lawyer: Report it to your landlord and the police. If you feel threatened or scared by this, you may be able to break your lease without charge. Also, make sure your landlord files an incident report with the management company that represents your property and also reports it to the vender!!” someone said.
The California woman then shared an update where she offered more details on what happened. According to her, the landlord was with the worker during the first half of the window installation. It was when he left that the worker did this disgusting behavior. She also added that she managed to find the worker’s name, business name, and Facebook account. The good thing is that she also found his wife’s Facebook account. Now, that’s a perfect way to get revenge. I hope she ends up warning her.
