In Biddeford, Maine, ICE agents fatally shot a man during an immigration enforcement stop. Massachusetts Rep. Seth Moulton addressed the incident in a social media post, describing the scene as a combat zone and referring to ICE as acting like “Trump’s racist secret police” while calling for the agency to be abolished. According to the post and circulating accounts, the shooting has sparked strong online reactions, including disputes over the circumstances. It references witness statements that the man tried to drive toward the agents. The matter is under investigation.
The video shows Massachusetts Rep. Seth Moulton standing outdoors, speaking directly to the camera. In the clip, Moulton states, “Another American community turned into a combat zone. ICE agents shot and killed a person in the streets of Biddeford, Maine.” He describes ICE as “acting like Trump’s racist secret police force because they know they have zero accountability”.
He says it is “long past time to abolish ICE, strip them of this unchecked power, and prosecute every single agent involved to the fullest extent of the law.” He adds that “Biddeford deserves answers, and the American people demand justice,” and further remarks that “lives are getting lost because what? He used his Prius as a weapon at two and a half miles an hour? That’s just an excuse to shoot somebody.”
Moulton compares the situation to agents “patrolling the Warsaw ghetto in 1940” and states, “That’s *expletive*, and it needs to stop.” The footage focuses on Moulton delivering these remarks and does not show the shooting incident itself or what happened immediately before or after.
Reactions Pour In to Moulton’s Call on ICE
Some commenters defended the ICE agents and disputed Moulton’s account of events. One user wrote, “The best way to not get shot by ICE is to not try to run them over. Pass it on.”
Another stated, “Tell your goons to stop trying to run over federal agents.” Others directly criticized Moulton. One reply read, “You traitor.”
Additional comments included references to an eyewitness account that “The car was put into drive and was trying to hit the ICE officer,” along with statements such as “Or ANOTHER illegal using his vehicle as a deadly threat. *expletive* off Seth” and “Hey Seth…. GTFOH!!”
Some users focused on broader support for enforcement actions, with one noting that “ICE should be sovereign until every illegal is removed by any means necessary.”
For now, the post has become part of a broader online conversation about immigration enforcement and use of force. As the investigation into the Biddeford shooting continues, public discussion remains focused on the circumstances of the incident and the appropriate role of ICE.
