Crunchyroll announced at its Paris Japan Expo 2023 that the company will stream the A Girl and Her Guard Dog anime. With this announcement, they also said that they will stream Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and Berserk of Gluttony. All of these titles will be available worldwide outside of Asia and India. The A Girl and Her Guard Dog anime will premiere in Japan in October. Nobuhiro Takamoto (Beelzebub) is credited with directing the anime at Project No. 9 Studios.

The A Girl and Her Guard Dog anime adaptation was first announced on March 24th. At this time, there is only a teaser trailer available for the series.

The television anime adapts Hatsuharu’s manga of the same name. It was first launched in the Bessatsu Friend magazine in December 2018. The manga, however, went on hiatus due to Hatsuharu’s poor health. Currently, Kodansha USA is publishing and releasing the manga in English.

Fall Standouts:  A Girl and Her Guard Dog and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End

Crunchyroll’s official description of the show reads, “Fifteen-year-old Isaku Senagaki, the granddaughter of the third boss of the Senagaki crime syndicate, just wants to have normal friends and a normal high school romance. She enrolls in a high school far from her hometown, but the overprotective young leader, twenty-six-year-old Keiya Uto, lies about his age and bribes his way into the same school as Isaku! Telling Isaku she’s too young to fall in love, Keiya’s ready to scare off all the boys. But actually, Isaku’s had unrequited feelings for Keiya this whole time?!”

Crunchyroll will stream Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End on September 29th. It will also stream with a two-hour special. The original story is based on the manga of the same name by Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe. Currently, Viz Midea is releasing the manga in English. It is also available in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday.
