California Chipotle customers witnessed drama unfold right before their eyes between an employee and a customer. What started as a verbal dispute over food quickly turned physical.
TikTok user Victorgiubi2024 caught the heated exchange on camera, where a Chipotle employee and a customer argued over an order he was picking up (possibly through a service like DoorDash or Uber Eats). The man is trying to resolve an issue redeeming something for the order. Meanwhile, the delivery driver is on the phone with his customer.
After being told not to cross “the line” and to leave, the employee grabs the order from the counter. He takes it outside and sets it on a table. “Your food will be on this table. You can take it; you don’t have to.”
Meanwhile, the delivery driver is following the employee, still talking on the phone with his customer. The California man once again tries to draw the employee’s attention to the customer on the phone, even stepping in front of the worker. To get around him, the Chipotle worker uses the other door, and the man gets smacked in the head.
In the second part of Victor’s video, the delivery driver is seen clutching the side of his head, asking to see the manager. When none of the Chipotle employees respond, he tries to go into the back of the restaurant.
The worker who initially argued with him screams, “Back up!” The two argue back and forth about whether or not the customer blocked the door and injured himself. They loudly fight while all the customers look on, laughing and watching the drama unfold.
This could lead to a Chipotle worker being fired
In the comments on Victor’s TikTok video, debate broke out, with many arguing who was in the wrong and what the consequences of the dispute might be.
Several commenters felt that, regardless of who was in the wrong, the Chipotle employee was on track to lose his job. As one commenter put it, “Unfortunately he’s gonna get fired for that cause Chipotle about to get sued.” One viewer sided with the employee but admitted, “He deserved it but I still felt bad for him when he got hurt.”
Another took it a step further, arguing against the possibility of this being an “easy lawsuit” for the customer. “You cannot step in front of a moving car and claim they hit you on purpose.”
The debate continues as viewers discuss whether a lawsuit is valid. What is clear is that very few, if any, think the Chipotle employee intentionally hurt the delivery driver and that it was simply an accident.
