I think it’d be an understatement to say that Cyberpunk 2077 has taken the world by storm. Hitting one million concurrent players on Steam alone on the first day, it goes without saying this is one of the biggest video game launches after. With it being a massive game and open world, it was bound to have tons of bugs. And when I say tons of bugs, I mean not going 5 minutes without one showing up. Thankfully, CD Projekt Red has quickly tackled a lot of these with update 1.04 for Cyberpunk 2077 on PC and PlayStation consoles. Xbox consoles will get the update as soon as possible. Not only does this fix tons of bugs, but people with epilepsy should have a much easier time as well.

For those interested in specifics, the braindance feature in Cyberpunk 2077 was causing players with epilepsy a lot of problems. There are a lot of flashing lights with the system, which can of course trigger seizures of all forms. If you want a more in-depth look into these problems and a lot more, I suggest reading up on this piece by the wonderful Liana Ruppert. Moving on though, this has been toned down so the lights are less frequent and aren’t as intense. This doesn’t harm the player experience though, and all around is a good thing for the game.

For those not suffering from this though, update 1.04 offers endless bug fixes for Cyberpunk 2077’s various quests. Just to give a few examples, issues with the final objective in “Gig: Freedom of the Press” have been fixed and Jackie’s issues sitting still in the mission “The Ripperdoc” have been fixed. All around this is good, as it’s almost hilarious how many bugs were in the game before update 1.04.

CD Projekt Red still has a long uphill battle for making Cyberpunk 2077 a much smoother experience. This update is definitely a good first step though. If you’d like to see the full list of changes, check the official patch notes here. Are you happy to see them fixing these issues so quickly? What are your thoughts on the game thus far?
