Cyberpunk 2077 is quite possibly the biggest launch in 2020, and for a good reason. It’s being developed by CD Projekt Red, who, of course, created the extremely well-received Witcher series of games, which won 17 different awards and was nominated for another 21. Not bad for a game developed with a fraction of the budget of other triple-A titles released around the same time, so it’s easy to see why the hype surrounding this game is so intense. Not to mention the genius marketing play of having none other than Keanu Reaves as a character in-game. It was announced 8 years ago in 2012, with a teaser trailer coming the year after; since then, minimal details outside of basic gameplay mechanics have been released, which has probably helped keep the hype alive.
Earlier this week, CD Projekt Red announced that Cyberpunk 2077 would be coming to Stadia, with the same launch date as all other platforms, November 19th. Pre-Orders have just gone live, too. Stadia is Google’s video game streaming service, capable of streaming in 4k resolution at 60fps, assuming you have the bandwidth for it. Google is planning on bumping this up to 8k resolution and 120fps, as long as users have purchased the Stadia Pro level, of course.
Players who buy the game through the Stadia store will receive some exclusive digital rewards; these include the games original score, an art booklet, a comic book, and a set of wallpapers for both mobile and desktop. Being able to play this highly anticipated release without worrying about downloads or meeting system requirements is definitely a tempting proposition, with the developers themselves recommending a GTX 1060, a graphics card not within reach of everyone. Also, being able to play immediately upon launch with no download sounds pretty good too.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be $60 on the Stadia, The same price as on consoles and Windows.
