Former That 70s Show star Danny Masterson and his legal team are preparing for the fallen television stars’ upcoming appeal. The appeal brief is due later this week, on November 22. However, new information is coming to light, raising some eyebrows.
Danny Masterson has spent a year behind bars at California’s Men’s Colony in San Luis Obispo. The fallen actor is eager to get out and has high hopes for his upcoming appeal. However, according to Radar Online, his legal team is going to extremes to contact the second rape trial jurors. The former jurors claim they are uncomfortable with the aggressive pursuit, to say the least.
The publication claims that sometime last week, the District Attorney’s office filed a motion calling for an evidentiary hearing to get the details on Masterson’s defense team.
Multiple jurors have reported that Danny Masterson’s legal team has aggressively pursued them. Some of the jurors have contacted the court, expressing their concerns. In July, the court received an email stating, “Some of the jurors have been visited at their homes by Danny Masterson’s Appeal team. We thought our information was going to be sealed.”
The anonymous juror questioned the courts, asking, “I was wondering how did she know my name and workplace information in order to get in contact with me? We are concerned.”
Not The First Time Danny Masterson’s Legal Team Accused Of Shady Conduct
Last week, prosecutors asked Olmedo to hold a hearing to consider sanctioning Masterson’s attorneys. This is the second round of disciplinary hearings against Masterson’s legal team in two years.
The LA Times reports that an order made public in September stated that Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Charlaine Olmedo was “troubled” by the attorneys’ conduct. The order claims that on multiple occasions, the attorneys contacted jurors at their homes and businesses to interview them as part of Masterson’s effort to appeal his 2023 conviction.
In her September order, Olmedo forbade the attorneys from directly contacting jurors. Holley denies any wrongdoing and reveals she is no longer involved in Masterson’s case.
Danny Masterson recently hired Cliff Gardner, a high-powered attorney, to handle business in his upcoming appeal. As recently reported, Gardner’s primary goal is determining whether the judge made any mistakes during Masterson’s trial.
While Danny is seemingly clinging to hope that his days behind bars may soon end. But, most do not think that Masterson will see the outside for many years, if not the full 30. As his appeal date nears, Danny Masterson no longer has the ongoing support of his former friends, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis. The couple spent an entire year dealing with the backlash that nearly killed their marriage and careers.
Also, Ashton Kutcher has a lot of drama going on in his life, especially regarding his longtime friendship with another close friend, Sean Diddy Combs. Things are not looking good for Ashton at this time. So, Kutcher may be looking for friends to support him should his relationship with Diddy drag him deeper into the growing scandal.
Who knows how this will play out? Some fans say Ashton may soon be in the same situation as Diddy and Danny Masterson.
