The critically successful and fan favorite second entry into the Darksiders franchise, Darksiders 2, is getting a royal makeover with the ever increasingly common HD re-release on current gen consoles. The Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition has some very subtle changes that overall will hopefully enhance the experience. The team really worked on the textures and lighting of the game, adding more realistic physics based rendering and, it goes without saying, but the game will now run in native 1080p resolution. Also included is all of the downloadable content offered in the original Darksiders 2.

If you played the original Darksiders 2, you may remember the horrible loot system. It was way too generous and practically showered players with loot and weapons. Unfortunately, that wasn’t even the beginnings of its trouble. Along with that, it was also entirely too easy to craft a game breaking weapon, making legendary items received from winning a boss battle useless.
Additionally, all of the awesome DLC weapons were rendered useless after just a few levels because there was no progression system in place for them. Fortunately for us, all of these things have been addressed by the team at Nordic and Gunfire Games. To go with the new loot and balancing system, the DLC weapons have been integrated into the game itself, which makes us think that the weapons will be scattered throughout the game and hopefully of varying levels.
