Life is filled with events that occur too quickly for us to react. While we navigate everyday experiences, we also face unexpected dangers, such as 73,000 pound trucks speeding down our residential streets and smashing into our homes. Today, a dump truck carrying concrete sand collided with a home in Woodbury Heights, New Jersey, causing significant damage. Fortunately, it appears that everyone involved was okay, but the house is definitely no longer safe to live in.
A video shows the shocking moment a New Jersey dump truck driver veers off the road, through several lawns, and directly into the side of a house. The viewpoint is from the truck’s dashcam, and makes it very clear that something must have happened to the driver just beforehand. You can see that the driver is going down the street just as anyone would, just before suddenly, slowly veering off the road.
His speed remains unchanged as he narrowly misses a van, smashes through a pole, and barrels through various lawns until finally, he collides with a blue house. Images shared online show debris having made it a few houses away from the scene. Commenters online were shocked to see how the events went down, “Dude took out a power pole like it was a branch 💀“
The driver was reported as having a medical episode, resulting in the crash. Charles Zeisloft, the owner of the truck company that employed the driver, said “He had no idea what happened. All he knows is he was stuck in the truck.“
Fortunately, no one was severely injured, as the homeowner was taken to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. A fellow neighbor was able to rush to the scene just moments afterward to keep the homeowner company until paramedics arrived about ten minutes later. As for the house, a different video shows it to be completely unlivable, with the side that suffered the impact suffering from significant structural damage.
