Meghan Markle‘s brand has been more of a laughingstock since its launch, and her jam is one of the worst offenders of criticism. From its inception, the jam has been seen as an overpriced failure that very few admire as a decent product. Its success, or the lack thereof, reflects how public reception for Season 2 of her Netflix show has been going: simply awful. And David Beckham and his wife Victoria seem to be taking a jab at Markle with their own jam-making tutorial.
It’s no secret that the Beckhams have long been at odds with Harry and Meghan. From the 2018 Invictus Games snubbing incident to the ongoing drama that Meghan has forced her husband into, the two couples aren’t known for getting along. Luckily, David and Victoria haven’t needed to do anything to ‘get back’ at the Sussexes at all, as Harry and Meghan have been quite competent at plunging their reputation further into the mud themselves. After all, the Beckhams have their own problems to take care of, and the Sussexes aren’t important enough for their attention. Yet, the recent homemade jam showcase on social media does seem to be what fans see as a bit of “trolling.”
Fans Claim the Beckhams Are Taking a Jab at Brooklyn and Meghan
“He’s trolling her and his son. David is showing these posers how it’s done!” comments an online user. “Lol… their very presence in Hollywood is trolling MEHghan tbh,” added another, pointing out how significantly more successful the Beckhams’ Netflix series was to With Love, Meghan. A third commenter chimed in, saying how “His is actual JAM. MeGain’s re-labeled crap is FRUIT SPREAD. She literally couldn’t even get jam right, and she thought she could have a successful lifestyle show and home goods line? 🤣🤣”
Trolling aside, many Beckham fans note how David’s been into jam-making much longer than Meghan’s brand has been around, and he’s also been a beekeeper for years. That said, one person claims they “doubt they were thinking about meghan or harry while doing the video.” Another seconds the sentiment, saying that there is “no war” going on here. David Beckham has been dedicated to beekeeping during the years of the pandemic as a hobby, starting his business from scratch. A source close to the Beckham family has told the Daily Mail that “the jam video is aimed at Brooklyn, for sure,” David’s estranged child.
Whatever the case, even if David and Victoria uploaded the video with zero intentions to shade Meghan, the fact still remains that the people’s respect for the Beckhams is much higher than the Sussexes have ever achieved. They probably don’t need to trouble themselves with petty squabbles when they’re already so well-adored by their fanbase, unlike the ex-royals.
