While it’s hard to think anyone would want to unfriend the world’s most beloved and dashingly handsome former football/soccer athlete, David Beckham, the Sussexes have made such an unthinkable affair possible. To clarify, the Beckhams and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex don’t necessarily hate each other. However, it’s been revealed that David and his wife “stopped being friendly” with the ex-royals due to a controversy that arose during Beckham’s endeavor to support Prince Harry at the 2018 Invictus Games.
In an interview with GBNews, royal biographer Angela Levin reports that accusations of the Beckhams “saying nasty things about” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and “leaking [unsavoury] material” made David “absolutely furious.” To make matters worse, this incident occurred after the football Champions League winner “flew all the way to Sydney” to support Harry and his wife. Levin reveals that the Duke of Sussex himself asked Beckham to come, but upon arrival, “nothing happened,” and “Harry wouldn’t [even] talk to” David. It’s not hard to imagine the betrayal the Beckhams felt after going out of their way to support Harry and Meghan, only to be ignored and even shunned because of fabricated accusations of defamation.
The Beckhams Have Now “Backed off and Stopped Being Friendly” With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
David Beckham is no stranger to being “ostracized from the royal family,” according to Angela Levin, due to issues from the past. However, things have taken a turn for the better for the Premier League trophy holder, as “King Charles loves” Beckham and “they’ve got lots in common now; they both love having bees and getting making their own honey,” the royal biographer shares.
Not only has Prince Harry lost his chance to befriend a globally renowned athlete, but he’s also lost a potential connection to his father now that David Beckham and King Charles have become good friends. David isn’t the only one who’s “backed off” from the Sussexes. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to make headlines with negative press one after another, from his own brother Prince William “disowning” him to reports that Meghan essentially brainwashed Harry into a pathetic and “constantly sad” troublemaker.
