Days Gone, the post-apocalyptic, Sony PlayStation exclusive, is set to release in 2019.

While the game never received an official release date, it was widely believed that Days Gone would release sometime this year. However, earlier this week, Sony updated the release window for a 2019 release. According to a statement issued to US Gamer, the change was deliberate, but there was no reason given for the delay.

Days Gone is the story of bounty hunter and motorcycle club officer Deacon St. John and his survival in a post-apocalyptic world. Based in the deserts of the Pacific Northwest, Deacon must fight for survival, with only a motorcycle to aid him, in a world recently overrun by a zombie-inducing pandemic.

Sony Bend, the developer behind Syphon Filter and Uncharted: Golden Abyss, has been working on this game since 2015. Creative Director Ron Allen detailed what sets it apart, “In most open world games, when there’s danger, it’s usually because you’ve brought it on yourself. Days Gone is a dangerous world — always…It’s about the human condition — this guy’s a broken man.” However, fans are already raring to experience Days Gone due to its mindblowing crowd physics showcased in its zombie hoards.

Sony announced Days Gone at E3 in 2016. Our motorcycle-riding anti-hero immediately grabbed the attention of audiences before the zombie hoards could even be seen. The PlayStation exclusive made an appearance again at E3 this past summer. The 2017 E3 trailer, featured above, showed gameplay footage and additional bits of the story. There are different ways to approach a situation with traps and stealthier alternatives for those who don’t prefer to enter with gun’s blazing.

Days Gone is set to release sometime in 2019 as a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro exclusive.
