PlayStation’s upcoming State of Play will probably be happening soon, so fans will receive an outpour of new and exciting information. Some of these announcements, such as Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, have already made their way to the internet. Now, it looks like Days Gone Remastered might also be revealed at the show, according to a cheeky response from Jordan Middler on Twitter.
Jeff Grubb originally rumored the remaster yesterday, though another industry veteran seems to feel the same. Should the news be true, then two of the biggest first-party announcements that could be shown at the next State of Play will merely be two rereleases. However, it is possible that the tactic behind this is to announce their release date as the same date as the PS5 Pro.
State of Play Looks to Have Some Underwhelming Projects to Show
Days Gone was not met with favorable criticism when it was originally released in 2019. However, this changed over time, as more players gained an appreciation for the post-apocalyptic game. In 2021, a Windows port was released that allows the game to be played at 60 fps. Considering that this version is already available, I fail to see exactly how a remaster would make the game any different. We technically already have the most perfect version of Days Gone available.
It is possible that a sequel to Days Gone will also be announced at the show, and the remaster of the first game is just to get new players on board. However, it doesn’t look like developer Bend Studio is working on a sequel, despite the small niche of fans asking since the release of the first one.
Days Gone is available to play on PC and PlayStation.
